Case study evaluation of the collaborative commissioning of social care in south east Wales with a focus on telecare/telehealth and accommodation with care

European Social Fund

The project aimed to put in place and develop project management capacity across the ten local authorities to support change in Welsh public services. It follows on from a Welsh Government funded Improvement Grant programme to develop a shared commissioning project for Children’s services. This change will be focused on developing a collaborative commissioning process for: ? Fostering and adoption - this work stream was covered separately by SEWIC through alternative shared funding arrangements and falls outside the scope of this report; ? Extra care housing - later revised to accommodation with care; and ? Telecare/assistive technology both between local authorities, and with external partners in the NHS, housing services, and the voluntary and independent sectors. The project aims to build on existing localised resources and develop wider regional resources too.
