Cefn Cribwr Athletic Club

Rural Development - Bridgend County Borough Council

Cefn Cribwr Athletic Club has recently celebrated its 125th anniversary of rugby in the village. Its new clubhouse, was completed in December 2013 and members are very proud of this modern, environmentally efficient building. Prior to this new building, their old clubhouse had been located since the mid ‘50’s in the old Miners’ Welfare Hall at the centre of the village. "The sale of our old clubhouse plus numerous fundraising activities and events ranging from golf days with rugby celebrities, 'buying a brick in the new building’ through to a sponsored cycle ride, enabled us to raise the money needed to build the new clubhouse," says Rhydian James, club Chairperson. "Sponsorship and goodwill of local businesses also contributed greatly."
