Our Welsh Caravan & Camping

Rural Development - Bridgend County Borough Council

A new 60 pitch caravan and camping park ‘Our Welsh Caravan & Camping’ wanted to install and trial an environmentally friendly compost heating system on their site. Developed by the Edwards family of Hendre Ifan Goch Farm, Blackmill, Bridgend, the land was originally used for agricultural purposes, but was struggling to sustain its farming legacy. Consequently the family decided to diversify and one of the results was the opening of the new caravan and camping park, which took place in July 2013. Close to the new Celtic Trail, a series of popular mountain bike tracks, the site has attracted visitors from throughout the UK, southern Ireland, Europe and Australia.
