Transforming adult social care in Carmarthenshire - Through the eyes of service users

Seeing is Believing - Co-production Case Studies from Wales

In November 2012 Carmarthenshire County Council carried out a six-day review of our Older Persons service, involving service users, carers and staff working in the community. The result was a new, more focused purpose, and a set of principles, looking at everything through the eyes of our service users. A multidisciplinary re-design team was brought together to pilot the Transforming Adult Social Care (TASC) project in Llanelli, before a county-wide rollout. The outcomes have been excellent with distinct improvements in the relevance and appropriateness of service provision, endorsed by very positive feedback from individuals and carers.
